I’m a huge fan of the baroque trend that is soon to hit all of the Fall fashion guides – nobody does it better than Balmain.
Structured pieces made of ornate, heavy fabrics define the brand’s signature look – making even a basic wardrobe item a statement piece. I’ve always loved the highly decorated, opulent, almost theatrical clothing that consistently comes out of this fashion house. Just look at the pictures I’ve collected here – loud, glitzy, and glamorous in a very different way. Similar gilded fashion can be seen in Alexander McQueen, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Roberto Cavalli’s Fall 2012 collections; but in my opinion, Balmain’s structured elegance and penchant for gold hit home for me.
