Swag Talk: Is The Art of Matching Dead?

by on July 26, 2012

Before we examine this, let’s go back in time and remember the days when you would have to match everything together in your outfit. I mean from your sneakers, to your T-shirt, to your hat, and even to your belt sometimes.

I know we all remember this time period and just how crucial it was for you to match because if you didn’t, most people thought you were unfashionable. Times have changed and we are in an era where matching isn’t what it used to be – the majority of people nowadays don’t try to match at all. I’m not saying this a good thing or a bad thing, but I feel as if certain occasions cause for you to match while others don’t. When you’re not trying to completely match your outfit, what people tend to do is go with colors that compliment each other or just using a neutral color for the base of their outfit and working around that. This is my philosophy but I do think people look the best when they don’t match but when they blend the right colors together.
