Back To School Essentials

With school right around the corner and fall also looming, there should be a few things on your must-have list. We have a list both the guys and the ladies will love.

Herschel Supply & Marc by Marc Jacobs

Backpack: I would suggest to you a sturdy backpack  that will be able to hold your books and your laptop per say, and not rip under the weight of these items. You should most definitely look for a fashionable backpack but be careful as majority of the time, a stylish backpack is poorly made. I would suggest to you a Nike backpack or one by Herschel Supply.

Tote: For the ladies, I’d definitely opt for a durable tote bag – it’s the perfect size for a laptop and some notebooks. I love the Marc by Marc Jacobs nylon totes and backpacks – I was lucky enough to snag a deep purple in the original backpack style years ago and have yet to stop using it. This one is cute too – they’ll definitely last you more than one school year.

10Deep & TNA

Hoody: With the temperature dropping anytime soon, you’re going to need to start stocking up on some sweaters and hoodies. My suggestions would be to look at the fall collections of Diamond Supply Co & 10.Deep for some nice warm threads for the upcoming weather.

Hoody:  I’m still a huge fan of American Apparel hoodies (they come in such cute colors) that I use for layering, but I also love the Long Fit Hoodie by TNA, available at Aritzia, which also comes in really adorable colors and a very flattering, longer fit. They’re perfect for under a jacket when it’s really cold out, or for those days where you don’t feel like looking cute – we all have them.

Nike FlyKnit Trainer+ & Steven by Steve Madden boot.

Sneakers: You’re going to need something comfortable and fashionable for the long enduring days of school, I say you go with a pair of Nike Flyknit Trainers. Not only are they easy on the feet and they do not cause discomfort, they are also very light and have so many different colors to pick from. There is no way you can go wrong with a pair of these.

Boots: the impossible search for the perfect pair of boots can be both rewarding and challenging – maybe because that perfect pair is really, really hard to find. Whether they’re over-the-knee, flat, heeled, or short booties, boots are great for both Fall and Winter weather, and add a touch of sexiness and sophistication to any outfit. I know I’m on the hunt for a new pair of over-the-knee black boots for myself. I’d recommend a pair of from Steven by Steve Madden – they’re not too expensive and are usually of pretty good quality, and tend to look better than regular Steve Madden boots.

Nike Destroyer & a leather jacket.

Jacket: With the really cold temperatures just around the corner, you’re going to need something that will provide more warmth than a hoody. You should look into a Nike Destroyer Jacket, or a regular varsity jacket; they are comfortable, thick and trendy. Nike offers good colorways for this jacket, but for me the best was the Dream Team edition that was released a few weeks ago.

Jacket: see my post on leather jackets – a girl’s best friend in the fall – or pick up a varsity jacket! It’s a cute, borrowed-from-the-boys look that you’ll soon find yourself obsessed with.
