In honor of Australian Fashion Week, I thought iLikeSwag should spotlight an amazing Aussie designer, Friend of Mine.
I love how Friend of Mine takes typical garments to new heights by way of choppily-cut hems, high slits, detailed stitches, and contrasting textures. I’ll let some of my favorite pieces from the collection speak for themselves.
Friend of Mine takes classic silhouettes and combines them with very modern, forward-thinking design elements, making them different from any other designer you’ve seen before. They stray from too “on-trend” concepts, instead opting for new takes on already updated wardrobe staples like the mini skirt, crop top, floor length gown and hot pant. I love the colors in the collection – muted, understated, soft – and how they compliment the out-of-the-box, almost wild designs.
