Being someone that isn’t a fan of slingback pumps, I’m surprised that I’ve been lusting over the classic Louboutin ‘Corneille Sling’ for a while now.
I always used to associate slingback’s with matronly figures and that terrible sound of flip-flops hitting your heel and then the floor (you know what I’m talking about), but after seeing the Christian Louboutin ‘Corneille Sling,’ I think I might have to make an exception for them. I love the asymmetrical toe and 4″ heel – I’ve heard they’re quite comfortable, so that’s a plus.
My Mom would let me try on her asymmetrical-toed heels when I was little that she kept from the 80’s, and I’ve loved that toe-shape ever since. I think that’s what makes this shoe more youthful and accessible to someone my age, in their early twenties.
I’ll have to bite the bullet and try them on next time I’m out. I can see them looking great with slightly cropped pants, and pretty much everything else that the classic black stiletto looks good with.
What do you think of the Christian Louboutin ‘Corneille Sling’? Are they matronly, or not? Let me know in the comments section.
