Although a tale of fashion tragedy inspired this post, my hope in the future has been restored after seeing JC’s Dina Wedge Boot.
During my scavenger hunt at the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M launch the other day, I saw the Plexi Wedge Ankle Boot ($349) that I had been coveting since the day I first laid eyes on them. Lo and behold, they were the last pair AND in my size – you can imagine the sheer delight I felt if you’ve been in similar God-sent situations. As I ran to the counter hoping this wasn’t a dream, I stopped to examine them and saw that some idiot had scuffed the inside of one the shoes really badly, basically ruining them. Needless to say, I left without them.
While perusing NastyGal this morning, my faith in fashionkind was restored when I saw the Jeffrey Campbell Dina Wedge Boot. The body is made of suede with a leather cushioned lining, and the almost 5″ heel is lucite. At $155, the JC pair is much more reasonable than the MMM ones – I must say, they’re a pretty good option to appease my disappointment!
