Rhinestones and Leather for the Ladies

by on December 10, 2012

During the holidays, bling and luxe fabrics have a way of making you stand out from the crowd of ugly Christmas sweaters and too much red lipstick. Pick up these two easy pieces from Zara and you’ll be sure to look sleek and shiny (in a good way).

If we know anything about trends, we know that studded leather is more than in-style, it’s EVERYWHERE. Why not separate the two entities – bejeweledness and leather – to create something a little more luxe, a little classier? Don’t get me wrong – I’m all about the studded leather look – but the holidays are a chance to step things up a bit, and take trends to the next level. Plus I take it you don’t want to accidentally poke your grandmother under the table with your spiked Lita’s, do you?

I’m definitely a fan of simple, tailored looks. You never end up looking like you’re doing too much or trying hard when wearing classic black and white, like the pairing below, featuring a lovely blouse and faux leather skirt from Zara. I’m a big fan of bling and leather – and classiness – so naturally this outfit is a winner in my opinion.

Zara’s Studio Top with Rhinestones ($89.90) and Fake Leather Skirt ($35.90).

You can’t ever go wrong with a classic black pencil-y skirt, like this faux leather one that’s a steal for only $35.90. A beautifully detailed blouse like the Studio Top with Rhinestones ($89.90) is the perfect pairing, adding a little bit of jeweled detail where you would least expect it. Overall, the look is classy and elegant with a twist of leather and sprinkle of sparkle.

The Wedge Court Shoe ($99.90), Metal Heel Court Shoe ($79.90), Chain Court Shoe ($49.90), Shiny Heel Strappy Sandal ($129), and High Heel Platform Court Shoe ($69.90) from Zara.

Add a pop of color with your accessories or a bright lipstick – or keep things a little more neutral – and you’re good to go! This outfit would definitely be great for those last-minute holiday get-togethers or a night out.
