Are overalls making a comeback? Check out this très chic pair from Zara after the jump.
Remember your favorite pair of overalls that you’d wear the heck out of as a kid? They were suitable for almost any occasion – eating ice cream at the park, running around, anything that would end up making you messy (most childhood situations) – and totally comfortable. I came across this pair of ‘Studio Dungarees’($99) in Zara’s December 2012 Lookbook that has me wondering if I’ll try to bring back the trend for myself, a decade or so later.
Featuring a very grown-up silhouette with two huge cutouts and a thin, elegant racerback, the Studio Dungarees are an adult take on the childhood classic. Made of what seems to be an elegant black fabric, these dungarees drape ever so beautifully on the model’s frame.
I’d suggest to those interested in trying the trend that this may be a worn-with-heels-only look. Wearing flats may make the body appear wider, as this style does not do much to thin torso region – heels can help draw a taller, leaner line.
Pick up the Studio Dungarees at Zara for $99 – bandeau not included.
