Rihanna’s Debut with London’s River Island

by on February 17, 2013

In the words of Rihanna, “the wait is over, the wait is over.” We have been tracing her steps on the debut of her inaugural collection as a designer with London’s River Island since her announcement via Twitter last year. Finally, London Fashion Week has begun so that Rihanna for River Island could be revealed to the world. See more after the jump.

Rihanna was successfully able to channel and mimic her energy into this collection. It is one collection that encompasses the spirit of femininity. She blended pieces that were daringly sexy with sheer and mesh fabrics, showed a girly side with cropped dresses and patterned mini skirts. She gave us edginess with denim, thigh-high lace-up boots and an oversized parka. The collection also features vibrant colors, more prints, stripes, jumpsuits and long dresses.

The show may have been “fashionably late,” but it proved to be nothing short of magnificence. Everything was well thought out from stage set-up to music selection, which featured a throwback hit from Roc-A-Fella and ASAP Rocky’s “Fuckin’ Problems.” The singer turned designer is well on her way to becoming one of the best!  Watch the video below.
