Queensbridge‘s finest Nasir Jones has become the latest rapper to get involved in fashion by coming together with Grungy Gentleman to produce a menswear collection for Fall 2013. While not much is known as to Nas‘ total involvement in the collaboration, the collection is certainly a fresh and relevant addition to the menswear/streetwear spectrum.
The street-goth HSTRY collection takes cues a la En Noir and Pyrex through premium quilted leathers and not-so-standard flannel shirts; even some Yeezy influence can be seen from the Mercy-esque leather face covers. The entire collection is made in the USA and reeks of its creator’s namesake: it is truly for distinguished gentlemen with a taste for grunge. Just try picturing Kurt Cobain, the face of grunge, wearing this collection! Yeah I know, that went too far.
